A Taste of the Coast 2009
will be a one day event scheduled for
April 25th, 2009.

Presented By:
Gulf Coast Scholarship Committee and
The Forgotten Coast Chapter of FRLA

The 6th annual Taste of the Coast "An Artful Affair" on Saturday April 25th promises a spectacular restaurant tasting from eateries including Apalachicola to Mexico Beach. The crowd in attendance is never disappointed. Original works of art will be sold and auctioned. Mediums ranging from oil, watercolor, photography, textiles, pottery and woodworking are featured. Signed first editions of novels are also offered.

Saturday begins with "Art in the Park" from 10 am-4 pm at beautiful bay side Frank Pate
Park. "A Taste of the Coast Classics" will feature classic cars, boats and bikes. Artists will be set up in the park to sell their works while a student "Painting and Poetry Contest" will be judged and prizes awarded. With live music, food and a view of the bay added to the mix, we promise an enjoyable day.

The main event begins at 6 pm at the historic Centennial Building. Live music by Hurricane Donnie and the cash bar establish the evening's ambience while the food and silent auction are enjoyed. The live auction is exciting and competitive. Our goal is for everyone to take home a treasure. Added attractions this year include, "An Artful Affair Awards" and "Peoples Choice" selections. Artists in attendance will judge the artwork donated in four categories, best of show, paintings, photography and 3D. Awards will be presented in these categories. The restaurant's presentations will be judged by those in attendance who are enjoying their culinary delights.

The Taste of the Coast "An Artful Affair" Committee is proud to announce that the proceeds of our event go to endow scholarships for Gulf County students. What could be more important than that? What indeed! We welcome you to enjoy our wonderful bay side community showcasing the Port St. Joe downtown revitalization project. Area motels and rental agencies are offering weekend packages. We invite you to visit the friendliest and most beautiful area of Florida's Gulf Coast.
